Hope Cafe will be open Thursday, May 16th from 4:30-5:30pmCT at the Russell Springs Community Center on Main Street. On the menu is: spaghetti & meatballs, garlic bread & cookies. It’s free & everyone is welcome! 

 




Grand Group Organizational Meeting 5/21/24

 
The Grand Group, grandparents (or any other family member) raising grandchildren, are invited to attend an organizational luncheon to see if there is interest in reviving this support group. The GRAND OPENING of Lake Cumberland Vendors Mall will be on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 9:00amCT. They are located at 77 Steve Drive in Russell Springs, KY (behind Dairy Queen).
 

4-H Outdoor Club FREE Family Fishing Day 6/1/24

 

The 4-H Outdoor Club is sponsoring a FREE Family Fishing Day from 9amCT to NoonCT on Saturday, June 1, 2024 as part of "Free Fishing Weekend" in Kentucky. The event will be held at Mt. Carmel Boat Ramp, 76 Richardson Rd, Columbia, KY. Cane pole fishing kits will be provided for kids to assemble, and then they can spend time fishing with their family. Lunch will be provided for participants. You must register for the event by clicking here: uky.az1.qualtrics.com. This opportunity is open to the first 40 who register. Registration ends May 10, 2024 or when all spots are filled.

 





First Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet & Tourism Mixer 7/19/24

 

 

The Columbia - Adair County Chamber of Commerce will hold their normal awards banquet and dinner on July 19, 2024 starting at 5:30pmCT at The Barn at Cedar Grove. Once the Chamber banquet has ended, the Tourism Mixer will start to fire up! Bring your dancing shoes, because the Green River Band will take the stage, and the bar will open at 7:00pmCT. The Silent auction will begin before the event and run through the end of the event. Ticket sales will start in June. 

 

***There will be no alcohol sales during the Chamber of Commerce Banquet. ***

 

Sponsorships will be used to purchase big ticket auction items, as well as go towards the total amount raised for new and existing local events. If you choose not to sponsor and would like to donate an item (or a few), that is just as exciting and appreciated!

A Sparksville Grade Center Reunion will be held on  Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11:00am-2:00pmCT at the new Breeding Fire Department training building, 13951 Burkesville Rd, Breeding, KY. Sparksville Grade Center was open from 1963-2006. A Grief Support Meeting will take place on the 2nd Monday evening of every month at 6:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. "Celebrate Recovery" in Russell Springs Each Thursday

 

CELEBRATE RECOVERY meets on Thursday evenings at 6:00pmCT in the Pearl Helm Worship Center located on the 2nd floor of the Russell Springs United Methodist Church, 226 Jamestown Street, Russell Springs, KY. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered recovery program based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is for anyone with Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups. You must be 18 or older to attend.
