Lula Clarkson Pettey, 85, Jamestown, KY

 
Lula Clarkson Pettey, 85, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation. She was born at home, in Casey County, on September 10, 1938, a daughter of the late James and Hazel Lillian Sanders Clarkson.
 
Lula was a retired home economics teacher and food service manager with the Russell County Board of Education. After retiring from the school system, Lula worked for Home Health Care and the KOA Campground. She was a member of the Russell County Homemakers. Lula lived a very colorful and fulfilled life. Her creative mindset allowed her to accomplish anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed making pottery, crafts, and crocheting, just to name a few. Lula loved karaoke and was a huge Elvis fan. 
 
SURVIVORS:
3 children: James (Michelle) Pettey, Reg Pettey, and Audra Roberts all of Jamestown
2 grandchildren: Shelbie (Coty) Landis of Columbia and Andrea (Matt) Esau of Russell Springs
3 great-grandchildren: Eli Landis, Reed Landis, and Brynn Esau
2 sisters: Neleta Clarkson of Jamestown and Nelda Walker of Montana
 
In addition to her parents, Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Pettey; two brothers: Victor Clarkson and Curtis Clarkson; and one sister, Viola Thomas. 
 
Memorial Service: Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 5:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Roberts officiating. 
 
Visitation: Wednesday from 3:00-5:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home
