TAMARA BURKHART

 

Tamara Gayle Burkhart, age 51, of, Liberty, KY, passed away on Saturday March 21st, 2026, at the Jean Waddle Care Center. She was born December 24th, 1974, in Somerset, KY, a daughter of Jerry Gayle Hamilton and the late Constance Black Hamilton.

 

Tamara was a former nurse.

 

Survivors include: her spouse: Wilse Burkhart, and two daughters: Emily Gayle Burkhart and Katelyn Marie Burkhart both of Liberty.

 

Preceding her in death besides her mother was one daughter: Abigayle Maria Burkhart and one brother: Alexander Dale Hamilton.

 

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 18th, 2026 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

 

JERRY ADKINS

 

Jerry Dale Adkins, lovingly known as Papa Jerry to his children and grandchildren, and brother to his sister and family, passed away suddenly at his home, March 19, 2026.

 

He was 79 years old.

 

Jerry attended services at Thomas Ridge Church in Dunnville, KY. He made a profession of faith to Brother Hershel Lawhorn in 2023, and professed he was saved and baptized in his younger years.

 

Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life he would often be found front porch sitting and visiting his friends and loved ones. Jerry took great pride in interacting with his grandchildren Riley, Kallen, and Korbin and was known for storytelling of past fishing endeavors and knife collecting.

 

He enjoyed an occasional side by side ride even up to his passing. He loved his grand dog (Diesel) who could engage him in short walks with whom he sat with every day until his passing.

 

Jerry was born December 27, 1946, to Esco and Ethera (Stephens) Adkins of Windsor, KY. He adored his daughters and his grandson’s, and he would call them daily to tell them just how much. Jerry retired from Liberty Sportswear, formerly known as Osh’Kosh, where he spent much of his life working in textiles.

 

In his younger years you would find him visiting car lots and often driving one home. He had a passion for cars, boats, and visiting the Mountains of Tennessee, that would always surface in most conversations with him especially his Ford Mustang.

 

He is survived by his daughters Teena Kissee (Neil Luttrell); Regina Adkins (SO Benjamin Noonan) all of Dunnville, KY; Three grandson’s Kallen Michael Kissee; Korbin Ross Kissee; and Riley Scott Adkins all of Dunnville, KY. Jerry had one Sister Gearlean (Adkins) & Ricky Bastin; two nieces Sheila Minton (Late Steve Minton) and Kristie Tapscott all of Liberty. He had two great nephews: Josh Minton and Jake Minton, one great-niece Kristijna (Derek) Sines of Louisville, KY and host of great nieces and nephews. He had a host of extended family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents previously mentioned, one sister Bertha, one brother Richard Adkins both infant siblings, and one grandson Bradley Austyn Floyd son of Teena Kissee.

 

Pallbearers include Neil Luttrell, Josh Minton, Michael Kissee, Kallen Kissee and Riley Adkins with Honorary Paul Bearers Ricky Bastin and Korbin Kissee.

 

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday March 23rd, 2026, at Thomas Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating.

 

Interment will be in the Thomas Ridge Cemetery, Dunnville, KY.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Bartle Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.

 

PEGGY DEAN

 

Peggy Jo Dean, age 82, of, Liberty, KY, passed away on Sunday March 15th, 2026, at her residence. She was born September 20th, 1943, in Liberty, KY, a daughter of the late Chester and Zola Patterson Lanham.

 

Peggy was the widow of Ralph Dean who passed away on September 7th, 2012.

 

Peggy was a former waitress and factory worker. She loved spending time singing, quilting, puzzle books, reading, gardening, time with her family and being at home. She was a member of Trace Fork Separate Baptist Church since the age of 12 and then rededicated her life as an adult.

 

Survivors include: four children: Beverly (Tim) McAninch of Liberty, Billy Gibson of Fayetteville, OH, Carla Denny of Liberty and Cathy Elmore of Liberty, two step children: Rita Nichols of Arkansas and Harry Dean of Liberty, nine grandchildren: Jimmie Joe (Shelbie) Napier, Amy (William) Turpin, Bryan (Bobbi) Gibson, Alicia (James) Charles, Johnnie ( Stephanie) McAninch, Travis (Miranda) Gibson, Eric (Kristyn) Elmore, Brittany Elmore (Aaron Cook) and Justin (Ashley) Wilson, two step grandchildren: Catrina Tosh and Nick “Bud” Nichols, twenty three great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, and one sister: Freida Stephens of Cynthiana.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was one brother: Luther Lanham.

 

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Thursday March 19th, 2026, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday March 20th, 2026, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Donald Wilson officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Trace Fork Cemetery.

 

WANDA RIDDLE

 

Mary Wanda Vaught Riddle, age 80, of Lexington, KY formerly of Liberty, KY, passed away on Sunday March 15th, 2026, at U.K. Medical Center. She was born April 14th, 1945, a daughter of the late Melvin R. and Mabel Murphy Vaught.

 

Survivors include her husband Luaird Riddle, two sisters: Anna Lou and Clark Durham of Liberty and Donna and Jimmy Yowell of Hustonville and sister-in-law Patricia Vaught.

 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: R.C. and Ronnie.

 

Private burial will be held.

 

DANNY HELM

 

Danny Lee Helm, age 64, of, Liberty, KY, passed away on Friday March 13th, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 23, 1961, in Liberty, KY, a son of the late Danny and Juanita Sears Helm.

 

Danny Lee was a former welder.

 

Survivors include: one aunt: Mildred Cutter and several cousins.

 

Preceding him in death besides his parents was one sister: Dana Richards and one brother: Darren Helm.

 

Visitation will be held 11:30 A.M. Tuesday March 17th, 2026, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

GLEN BUIS

 

Glen C. Buis, age 74, of, Columbia, KY, passed away on Tuesday March 3rd, 2026, at the Casey County Hospital. He was born July 14th, 1951, in Casey Co., KY, a son of the late Claud and Bannie Marie Parton Buis.

 

Glen was a former carpenter.

 

Survivors include: six siblings: Harold (Margie) Buis of Yosemite, Sterling (Ruby) Buis of Liberty, Ethel Mae (Brent) Smith of Liberty, Carel Loy of Jamestown, Louise (Bill) Rodgers of Greensburg and Debbie (Carl) McAninch of Liberty.

 

Preceding him in death besides his parents was four siblings: Claud Lynn Buis, Vernon Buis, Earl Buis and Sue Clements.

 

Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday March 5th, 2026, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

GARY YOUNG

 

Gary F. Young, 62, of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those whose lives he touched so deeply.

 

Gary was the beloved son of Phyllis Young of Liberty and the late Frank Young. He was born in Boyle County, KY and spent his life devoted to family and hard work. Above all else, Gary was a loving husband, father, son, brother, papaw, and friend whose kindness and steady presence will be forever remembered.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna King Young who was his world, his children, Chad Baldock (Jamie Duncan), Bradley (Alesha) Baldock, Austin Young (Merideth Lee) all of Liberty Ky. His cherished grandchildren, Mylee, Alexia, Braxton, Colton, Ansleigh, and Brody, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Melissa (Odis) Strunk of Science Hill, Ky, Jennifer Young of Stanford KY, and Johnny (Janet) Young of Liberty, Ky, His father-in-law and mother-in-law Bearl and Wanda Scott King of Liberty, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many close friends whom he considered family.

 

He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Misty, who truly was his world and constant companion.

 

Preceding him in death besides his father was his beloved daughter, Misty Jenkins.

 

For more than 30 years, Gary dedicated himself to his work as a GM technician at Spirit Chevrolet and Bob Allen. Known for his unmatched work ethic and knowledge, Gary was the person everyone called when something went wrong with a vehicle. More often than not, he could diagnose the problem right over the phone. Helping others brought him genuine happiness, and he never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need.

 

Gary was a faithful member of Brush Creek Pentecostal Church, where he served as a board member for many years. He was known for his playful spirit and loving heart. He especially enjoyed teasing the children during Penny March, and they happily teased him right back. 

 

Gary’s life was defined by love, perseverance, and generosity. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and taught those around him to love fully, stand by family, keep your word, and never quit — to fight until the very end. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and forgiveness, leaving behind a legacy that will live on through everyone fortunate enough to know him.

 

Gary will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his caring heart, strong hands, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself.

 

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Saturday February 28th, 2026, at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church 2411 KY 49, Liberty, KY 42539 and after 11:00 A.M. Sunday March 1st, 2026 at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church.

STEVEN DURHAM

 

Steven Durham, of Hustonville, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was 47.

 

Born on November 6, 1978, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, he was a son of Roger Durham and Vivian Peyton. Steven was a crane operator and boiler maker for Fisher Tank. He was a 1998 graduate of Casey County High School. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Steven was the best “girl Dad” to his daughters and loved spending time with his grandbabies. He was always a jokester and known for being the life of any party.

 

In addition to his father, Roger (and Paula) Durham; and his mother, Vivian Peyton; he is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Durham, who he wed on October 3, 1998; two daughters, Hannah (and Isaac Lay) Durham and Haley (and Hayden) Abston; four grandchildren, Waylon Lay, Beau Lay, Ellie Abston, and Layla Abston; two brothers, Michael (and Mikayla) Durham and Roger Brumley; and one sister, Christy (and Steve) Allen.

 

Steven is preceded in death by one brother, Jon Scott.

 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Travis Durham officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

ERNIE HACK

 

Ernest “Ernie” Hack, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Jean Waddle Care Center. He was 83.

 

Born on August 5, 1942, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, he was a son of the late William and Gracie Whobrey Hack. Ernie was a dedicated Christian. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and singing gospel music. Ernie loved to walk creek banks and gather rocks.

 

He is survived by his children, Deborah Hack of Russell Springs, William “Buddy” Hack of Columbia, Tina Adams of Liberty, whom he resided with, Rachel Hack of Russell Springs, Josh Hack of Liberty, and Hannah Haynes of Russell Springs; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jewel Hack Brooks.

 

He is preceded in death by the mothers of his children, Marilyn Derringer and Diana Hack; a daughter, Loretta Ann Hack Rodgers; four brothers, Dennie Hack, Willie Hack, Bobby Hack, and Lester Hack; and three sisters, Lillie Hack Yochem, Pearl Hack Hinson, and Irene Hack Johnson.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at New Harmony Cemetery in Leitchfield, Kentucky, with Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. EST to 9:00 P.M. EST on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church.

 

Pallbearers will be Derik Byrd, Jacob Byrd, Felicia Byrd and Randy Byrd.

 

The family wants to express a special “Thank You” to Hospice of Lake Cumberland for the love and care the staff provided to Ernie in his final days.

 

KENNY DAVENPORT

 

Kenny Davenport, of Liberty, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Casey County Hospital.  He was 66.

 

He was born on February 24, 1960, in Casey County, to the late Claude Davenport, Jr. and Faustine Sallee Davenport.

 

Kenny was a self-employed gate hauler and mechanic.  He also did mechanic work for Floyd Gate Company.

 

He is survived by his wife, Waynetta Luttrell Davenport, whom he wed on October 10, 1980; his daughter, Jennifer Randolph, of Liberty; his brother, Dennis Davenport of Liberty; two special grandchildren, Austin and Angel; and his little buddy, Aaron.

 

Graveside services will be on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2:00PM at South Fork Cemetery with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating.

BILLY HAMLIN

 

Billy Gerald Hamlin, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at his home. He was 80.

 

Born on January 20, 1946, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Homer Hamlin and Linnie Marie Richardson Hamlin. Billy enjoyed riding motorcycles.

 

He is survived by a sister, Carolyn June (and Donnie) Lawhorn of Dunnville; a daughter, Billie Jo Lawhorn; six grandchildren, Amber Ruby, Maryetta Ruby, Douglas (and Hailey) Russell, Jessica (and Corey) Dial, Summer (Steven) Pittman, and Hayden Stephens; and nine great-grandchildren, Kaiden Lane, Ryder Lane, Heartly Cape, Harper Cochran, Serenity Polly, Kensley Dial, Lylah Dial, Kennedi Dial, and Jaxon Pittman. Other survivors include nieces, Judy (and Alan) Lee, Andrea (and Gary) Owens, and Margaret Henson; and three nephews, Timmie Lawhorn, Todd Lawhorn, and James Lawhorn.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Negia Marie York and Carol Jean Lawhorn.

HELENA McDONALD

 

Helena Murphy McDonald, of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 93.

 

Born on July 13, 1932, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late George Wesley Murphy and Lucy Jo Allen Murphy. Helena was a retired cook for Casey County High School. She was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church where she was also a former Sunday school teacher. She loved gardening, cooking, quilting, and crocheting.

 

Helena is survived by a grandson, Tyson (and Rachel R.) McDonald; and six grandchildren, Ella G. McDonald, Abigail L. McDonald, Wyatt C. McDonald, Hayden R. McDonald, Anna K. McDonald, and Connor T. McDonald.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lonzy Lee “Red” McDonald; two sons, Gary Lee McDonald and Richard Curtis McDonald; three sisters, Mattie Decker, Myrtle Harmon, and Irene Lay; and seven brothers, Sherman Murphy, Sherwood Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Edwin Murphy, Fred Murphy, James Murphy, and Claud Murphy.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church with Bro. Rodney Smith officiating.

MACK HICKS

 

Mack Hicks, of Liberty, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Casey County Hospital.  He was 91.

 

He was born October 4, 1934, in Bowlington, KY, to the late Mack Hicks, Sr. and Rebecca Bowling Hicks.

 

Mack worked many years at a sawmill and grading lumber. He worked with cattle and loved to be outdoors.  He enjoyed the companionship of his dogs.

 

He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews; a special niece, Rachel Hicks Bolin; his sister-in-law, Laura Hicks (and the late, Noel Hicks); and special friends, Bryan Grider and the Griffith family.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Burton officiating. 

 

Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Bryan Grider, Cameron Griffith, Carl Griffith, Ryan Griffith, Phillip Andrews and Ben Scott.

LARRY GRIDER

 

Larry S. Grider, of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home. He was 83.

 

Born on July 7, 1942, in Russell County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Frank Grider and Jewel Gaskin Dinkmiere.

 

Larry was a skilled carpenter with a specialty in building kitchens. He enjoyed fencing and working as a salesman, selling spiritual books. Larry was a hard worker with a kind and sensitive soul. He was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith and was a US Army veteran who served as a medic.

 

He is survived by his wife, Karen Remer Grider, who he wed on October 20, 2006; two sons, Brent Grider of Washington and Benjamin Cordes of Illinois; five daughters, Rachel Grider of Washington State, Tori Sara Rose of Tennessee, Mary Cordes of Liberty, Hannah Martinez of Montana, and Abigail Cordes of Illinois; and seven grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. CST on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church.

 

The family will receive visitors from 12:00-1:00 P.M. CST, at Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church, prior to the memorial service.

 

PEGGY LONG

 

Peggy Long, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at her home. She was 65.

 

Born on September 28, 1960, in Franklin, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Howard and Alois Shreve Johnson. Peggy was a homemaker. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She loved gardening, canning, reading her Bible, and caring for her rose bushes. Above all, Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Beth (and Otniel) Mina of Liberty; her granddaughter, Kamilia Mina of Liberty; and two sisters, Judy Summerville of Adair County and Vicky Price of Liberty.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David “Doc” Long, who passed away on November 22, 2013; a sister, Debbie Benedict; three brothers, Larry Johnson, Rick Johnson, and Tim Johnson; and two infant brothers.

 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Donovan Smith officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

LINDA BRYANT

 

Linda Kay Bryant, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Liberty, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at her home in New Albany.  She was 67.

 

She was born on January 21, 1959, in New Albany, IN to the late Tilford Overstreet and Marie Rodgers Overstreet.

 

She was a former employee of M. Fine and Sons where she worked for 20 years. Linda had recently worked for Caesar’s Casino as part of the maintenance crew. She loved her daily cup of hot coffee and enjoyed playing bingo and shopping.

 

Linda is survived by her sons, Kevin (and Jessica) Bryant of Liberty and Chris Bryant of Jeffersonville, IN; two brothers, Marvin (and Donna) Overstreet of Borden, IN and Travis (and Lou) Summers of Morgantown, IN; two sisters, Rose Jackson of New Albany, IN and Betty Summers of Florida; five grandchildren, Destiny, Larissa, Katie, Jaxson and Ava; and two great-granddaughters, Lily and Reina.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Bryant, who passed away on February 18, 2023; a brother, Dayton Summers; two sisters, Elda Owensby and Lita Mason; and a grandson, Brody Bryant.

KENNETH EMERSON

 

Kenneth Clay Emerson, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Casey County Hospital. He was 71.

 

Born on February 3, 1955, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Walter Clay Emerson and Ina Mae Poff Emerson Wilham. Kenneth had many self-employed trades over the years. He was a member of Point Church of Christ.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Murphy Emerson, who he wed on November 18, 1972; a daughter, Melissa (and David) Brown of Liberty; two sisters, Martha (and Ronald) Luttrell and Pamela (and Tim) Lawhorn; a stepsister, Tara (and Tim) Buis; and a grandson, Ryker Brown.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Clay Brown.

GAY CLARK

 

Ila Agatha “Gay” Clark, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Casey County Hospital. She was 93.

 

Born on February 21, 1933, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late James Kenton “Bud” Luttrell and Mattie Gladys Murphy Luttrell. Sister Gay was a devoted pastor’s wife for many years. She was a faithful member of Hilltop Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle. She was a Kentucky Colonel, Gospel Time Singer, and a member of the Hilltop Ladies Group. Sister Gay was very involved with Relay for Life.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Ray Clark, who she wed on June 3, 1967; and children, Dian Ottinger, Debbie Powell, Brenda (and Ricky) Buck, Vicki (and Sue Kirk) Shepherd, Kim Angel, Eddie (and Jackie) Shepherd, and Amanda Hatter. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Bendschneider.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Vivian Pyles and Mae Fonneal Means; two brothers, James Harold Luttrell and Larry Ray Luttrell; and two granddaughters, Misty Dawn Buck and Kirsten Johnston.

 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Hilltop Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle.

 

Burial will follow in Hilltop Trinity Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, February 27, 2026, and from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

 

Visitation will also be held from 12:30 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Hilltop Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle, prior to the funeral service.

 

Pallbearers will be Larry Luttrell, Donnie Hatter, Mitchell Eads, Gil Brewshaw, Jimmy Luttrell, and Scott Cochran.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tyner and Dr. Tarter.

GLENDA EWERS

 

Glenda Sue Gardner-Ewers, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Liberty, Kentucky, on February 24, 2026.

 

Born on March 26, 1948, in Lebanon, Indiana, Glenda spent most of her life in Central California, where she built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and friendships. No matter where she lived, she carried warmth and light with her, touching the hearts of everyone she met.

 

She is survived by her sons, Brent Latona (Janice), Steven Latona (Danielle); and her daughter, Pam Holliday. 

 

Glenda’s love for her family was immeasurable. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Brent and Steven. Her love for her children was steadfast and unconditional, and she was endlessly proud of each of them.

 

She was a cherished grandmother to Amber Silva (Ryan), Jarod Latona (Katie), Mackenzie Latona (Bobby), Jason Latona (Savannah), Ben Latona, John Brandle (Yulisa), Francine Landry (Shannon), William Brandle (Jessica), Michael and Michelle Ewers. 

 

She was a proud great-grandmother to Addison, Colton, Dakota, Kacee and soon to be born Raelynn. Preceding her in death is her beloved great-granddaughter, Lorelai.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored them beyond words, celebrated their every accomplishment, and held each of them close to her heart. She was indeed everyone’s biggest cheerleader. 

 

Glenda is also survived by her brothers, Kent (Joellen) and Mark; her sisters, Darlene and Debbie (Leonard); and many extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.

 

Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. There wasn’t a human being she didn’t care for. Everyone she met felt her kindness and genuine concern. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved, and she truly touched countless hearts throughout her life.

 

Glenda had a deep love for the Lord, which guided her life and shaped the compassion she showed to others. She found joy in all things pretty and purple, delighted in a good shopping spree—often more than she planned—and had a well-known sweet tooth that she happily indulged. She loved playing games and had an undeniable knack for winning, often with a playful smile that made it impossible to mind losing to her.

 

Above all else, Glenda loved. She loved her sons, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her family, her friends, and every soul she encountered. She was loved by all because she loved all so freely and so well. Her legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and boundless love will live on in the many lives she touched.

 

If Glenda had one piece of advice to give it was to seek the Lord, learn His word and feel His love.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

 

A Celebration of Life for Glenda will be at 12 noon on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Gateway Park, 90 E. KY 70, Liberty, KY. 

 

CHRISTINE WEDDLE

 

Christine Clements Weddle, age 87, of, Dunnville, KY, passed away on Sunday February 22nd, 2026, at the Fair Oaks Health and Rehab. She was born December 23rd, 1938, in Liberty, KY, a daughter of the late Oliver and Ann Liza Black Clements.

 

Christine was the widow of Micah Weddle who passed away on December 10th, 2022.

 

Christine was a former seamstress for Liberty Sportswear and OshKosh.

 

Survivors include: one daughter: Beverly (Kenneth) Sullivan of Russell Springs, one son: Ray (Jenell) Weddle of Dunnville, five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was six siblings: Ola Clements, Lola Kimbrell, Arlis Clements, Louise Clements, Mildred Poff and Lewis “Joe” Clements.

Elizabeth Barlow Garrett, age 85, of, Dunnville, KY, passed away on Saturday February 21st, 2026, at the Ashton on Dorsey in Louisville, KY. She was born November 1st, 1940, in Liberty, KY, a daughter of the late Dave Albert and Anna Bell Barlow.

 

Elizabeth was the widow of James A. Garrett III who passed away on September 16th, 2015.

 

Elizabeth was an owner for 54 years of Garrett Gate, and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include: three daughters: Patricia (Jack) Miller of Louisville, Wilma Greer of Centreville, VA and Mary Agee of Nicholasville, five grandchildren: Jonathan Miller of Laguna Hills, CA, Daniel Miller of Orlando, FL, Bryan Agee of Nicholasville, Brent Agee of Nicholasville and Ashley Greer of Centreville, VA, four great grandchildren: Preston Agee, Caiden Agee, Eliza Miller and J.J. Miller, two step great grandchildren: Kaelynn Speed and Logan Speed, one brother: Eugene Barlow of Chicopee, MA, and three sisters: Delores Godwin of Indianapolis, IN, Ova Wesley Roberts of Columbia, and Dollie Noel of Campbellsville.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was one son: George Garrett, five brothers: Marshall, John, Albert, Robert and Fletcher Barlow and two sisters: Josephine Gabehart and Georgia Adams.

Robert Lynn Holton, age 75, of, Dunnville, KY, passed away on Thursday February 19th, 2026, at the Russell County Hospital. He was born January 13th, 1951, in Lincoln Co., KY, a son of the late Raymond and Rubie Johnson Holton.

 

Robert was a former employee of ATR, a former employee of the Casey County Recycling Center and a member of South Fork Baptist Church in McKinney, KY.

Norma Jean Hatter, age 93, of, Liberty, KY, passed away on Monday February 9th, 2026, at her residence. She was born May 29th, 1932, in Willow Springs, KY, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Betty Blanche Wesley Clark.

 

Norma Jean was a former school cook, and lunchroom clerk for the Casey County School System, a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church.

 

Norma Jean was the widow of Cecil Hatter who passed away on April 6th, 2021.

 

Survivors include: one son: Michael L. (Sherri) Hatter of Liberty, one daughter: Jeanie (Darrell) Atwood of Liberty, four grandchildren: Jason Hatter, Ashley (Jordan) Sparr, Brittany (Quintin) Ogle and Darren (Courtney) Atwood, ten great grandchildren: Logan Hatter, Taylor Hatter, Colton Hatter, Connor Sparr, Jenna Sparr, Anslee Weddle, Case Atwood, Tyson Atwood, Ledger Atwood and Briggs Atwood, two great great grandchildren: Paisley Hatter and Easton Hatter and one sister: Mae Bell of Liberty.

JOHN PRICE

 

John Robert Price, of Liberty, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was 50 years, 11 months, and 25 days young. 

 

Born on February 25, 1975, in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of Dr. John and Terry Watson Price of Liberty.  John obtained his B.S. at Lindsey Wilson College and his master’s in education at Georgetown University.  He was working toward his Rank 1 at the time of his passing. John dearly loved his position as science teacher at Mercer County Senior High and his students meant the world to him. Above all, he loved his son and daughter and took great joy in their lives. John was a part of the 1993 Casey County High School state tournament team and played baseball and golf as well.  He was a basketball and little league baseball coach for his son, and coached softball for his daughter.  John loved playing guitar, watching Formula One, riding his four-wheeler and being a special part of his nieces’ and nephews’ lives. Family was everything to him.  John attended Southland Christian Church at the Danville campus and gave his life to Christ at an early age.

 

In addition to his parents, John is survived by two children, Jax and Mia Price; his brother, Jason (Charity) Price of Wilmore; his sister, Kelly Forbes of Liberty; his nieces and nephews, Hogan, Talley, Mae, and Jase Price and Elizabeth, Luca and Elyn Forbes; and his girlfriend, Russelle Ubas of Elizabethtown.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, February 22, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackelford and Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the Casey County Memorial Gardens.

 

Visitation will be held after 6:00PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and on Sunday from 10:00AM until the time of the service, both at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

SHANNON WILLIAMS

 

Shannon Williams, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Casey County Hospital. She was 66.

 

Born on February 5, 1960, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late James Carroll Rodgers and Joyce Marie Eads. Shannon was a housekeeper at Casey County Hospital. She had a passion for caring for the elderly. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Shannon enjoyed watching auctions on Facebook.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Mandy Vannoy and Bekki Joines; a son, Trinity Joines; two sisters, Kay Lee and Brenda Williamson; and two brothers, Mitchell Eads and Gary Rodgers. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Drekken, Jadelyn, Georgia, Annabeth, and Kai.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Ledia Patten and Cleta Marie Rodgers.

 

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Smallwood officiating.

 

Burial will be held privately at Whited Cemetery.
